As in previous years pupils in Raasay Primary School have been filling shoeboxes for the Blythswood Shoebox Appeal. Boxes are filled with useful items such as toiletries, clothing, hats, scarves, stationery and small toys among other things. These are then distributed to disadvantaged people in countries across Europe including: Albania, Kosovo, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Romania. This year, the boys decided to fill a box for a boy of their own age and they enjoyed choosing appropriate items. They also managed to fill a few other boxes including two for babies and one for a young woman. This year they filled 10 boxes which will soon be on their way to those in need.
