Making a Fire Extinguisher

Pupils were learning about the properties of a fire extinguisher and how the science behind it works. By mixing vinegar and bicarbonate of soda pupils were able to produce CO2 and discovered that the flame went out because the CO2 was heavier than the air around it and settled round the flame, extinguishing it.
