This year we had a Scottish theme for our local Sports Day which consisted of a mini Highland Games. The pupils, dressed in their kilts and tartan tammies, were piped down to the pitch by Duncan which set the scene beautifully for the day. The events included toss the caber, throw the hammer and shot put – as well as the much anticipated ‘Dress the Highlander’! Thank you to David Carslaw for the fantastic photographs, to Duncan for the wonderful piping and to the Parent Council for the much appreciated refreshments. Also thank you to our ‘Highlanders’ for being such good sports – we think they enjoyed it really!
