This week there has been a major focus on our Charity Fundraising as we support three major Charities. On Thursday 12th March, pupils will take place in some fun sports activities for Sport Relief. Unfortunately, a planned charity community walk had to be postponed for weather reasons but we will re-schedule for next term.
On Friday 13th and Saturday 14th March pupils will be taking part in a ‘Wee Sleep Out’ and ‘Big Scottish Breakfast’. The sleep out is in aid of the Social Bites Charity which aims to end homelessness in Scotland. Pupils will experience having to sleep in a sleeping bag and not in their own beds. They will be watching a video about the work of the charity and what it means to be homeless. A box has been placed in the local shop and donations given of basic food stuffs – pupils will not know until the evening what is in the box and will have to make their meal accordingly. They will then have songs and toasted marshmallows at the camp fire.
The next morning the whole community is invited to a ‘Big Scottish Breakfast’ – pupils and Parent Council will be preparing some delicious breakfasts and donations will be taken for the STV Children’s Appeal. Thank you for all your support so far – we will let you know how we get on and what our final totals are next week.
